About Us
INESM (Inter-agency Network on Education Simulation Models) - websiteThe INESM website is the result of inter-agency consultations on education simulation models (ESMs) involving the EFA-FTI Secretariat, the World Bank, UNDP, UNICEF, the Academy for Educational Development (AED) and UNESCO (Headquarters, International Institute for Educational Planning and Pôle de Dakar). It was developed after discussions on the multiplicity of tools for education policy and resource simulation, as well as ways in which agencies could better collaborate in supporting countries in education sector planning and identifying resource gaps for FTI endorsement. The INESM website serves as a clearinghouse on ESMs in which all education simulation tools that respond to pre-defined criteria are stocked and presented in a structured way, together with their description, user’s guides and experiences. The proposal that this web-based inter-agency network on education simulation models (INESM) be created and housed at UNESCO was made at a meeting of partner agencies in New York in Feb 2008. . |
TTESM (Task Team on Education Simulation Models)There are several approaches to education sector analysis and planning, together with a variety of education simulation models (ESMs), developed by countries or advocated by agencies. These ESMs, which overall support education planning in various stages and contexts, often differ in their flows, structure, presentation and scope depending on the focus of national planning and also on the purpose of the ‘advocating’ agency. To ensure greater coordination an inter-agency Task Team on Education Simulation Models (TTESM) was set up in February 2008. Founding Member Organisations:
